Mengying Xie is an Assistant Professor in the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of international relations and public policy, focusing on climate politics, transnational governance, and China’s role in global climate governance. She is particularly interested in questions related to the impacts of private regulation on steering participants’ behaviors, the political economy of climate regulation, and the sustainability of China’s overseas investment. Her work has been published in journals such as Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, Public Administration and Development, Global Public Policy and Governance, and World Economics and Politics. Mengying earned her PhD in Public Management at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. She also holds a double master’s degree in the Global Political Economy of China and Europe at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
